Nikola Kasabov (FIEEE 2010) (PhD in Mathematical Sciences) is the Director of the Knowledge Engineering and Discovery Research Institute (KEDRI), and Personal Chair Professor of Knowledge Engineering in the School of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences, Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand. He has published more than 600 works, including 200 journal papers and 28 patents in the area of evolving connectionist systems, hybrid neuro-fuzzy systems, neural networks, bioinformatics, neuroinformatics. These works have received more than 13,000 citations so far. Prof. Kasabov is a Fellow of IEEE, Fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand and the New Zealand Institute for IT Professionals. He is Past President of the International Neural Network Society (INNS) and Past President and President-Elect of the Asia-Pacific Neural Network Society (APNNS). Prof. Kasabov is Advisory Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China.
