Jesús L. Lobo

PhD

Dr. Jesús L. Lobo (PhD in Information and Communications Technologies in Mobile Networks) is currently based in Bilbao (Spain) working at TECNALIA as Data Scientist and Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence Researcher.

➤ As Researcher, he is focused on stream learning, concept drift, ensembles, spiking neural networks and lifelong machine learning. He is member of the GEI-Big Data (http://bigdatabytecnalia.com/), an international excellence group at Tecnalia composed by experienced Data Scientists, and also member of the JRLab. As another relevant part of his everyday research work, he also writes and reviews manuscripts for scientific journals and conferences, and ocasionally he has worked as data science trainer. His research topics are: Stream learning (Online Learning and Concept Drift), Lifelong Machine Learning, Ensemble building, and Spiking Neural Networks.

➤ As Data Scientist and Artificial Intelligence Engineer, he has dealt with real problems such as robotics planning, electricity fraud detection, EEG signals to identify fatigue of pilots in the aircrafts, customer segmentation & target marketing for car insurance companies, educational data mining, industry 4.0 (metal spinning), and more. He designs predictive/descriptive models working with the latest Machine Learning and Optimisation algorithms in order to find the most suitable solutions for the target problem.

He attended the University of Deusto and the National Distance Education University (UNED), receiving his BSc+MSc in Computer Science and his MSc in Advanced Artificial Intelligence respectively. In 2018 he obtained his PhD at EHU/UPV University.

Not forgetting the leisure side, he also loves to go outdoors to surf all over the globe.
