Itziar Landa-Torres

PhD

Itziar Landa has a Bachelor degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Deusto (2009) and a Master degree from the University of the Basque Country (2010). She was awarded a scholarship from the Iñaki Goenaga Foundation for the accomplishment of his Doctoral Thesis in Robotiker –Tecnalia and during it she was granted with two scholarships to follow up her research at the prestigious research group of GHEODE in the University of Alcalá. Doctor in Information and Communication Technologies (Universidad de Alcalá, 2013). Her PhD thesis entitled “Grouping Harmony Search: Principles, Novel Adaptations and Practical Applications”, was awarded with the Outstanding PhD thesis award from the University of Alcalá. Currently, she is a senior researcher at Tecnalia Research & Innovation. Her research focuses in the field of data analytics which has successfully applied to a range of topics, such as Smart Grids, load prediction, active demand management and detection of non-technical losses, as well as business intelligence and customer leak detection, among others.
On the other hand she has been a lecturer in several courses of data analytics. She is the co-author of more than 15 articles in international journals and more than 15 papers in international conferences and is a reviewer for several indexed journals in the field of data analytics.
